Oh I'm a member of the Ultra-Rare Group too!!!

Signed and Shiney with Mistake... PROPER!!

I know what the next target is, the even rarer versions which will be made for radio stations. They are useually just a cardboard sleeve but very very few are made!! If you like "the Killers" the Radio station copies are available on eBay... someone got a hold of them somehow?!

Oh I also have a version of Echo Park by Feeder... signed by Jon (who btw died a bit ago) so does that have extra value?

It's not hard to get promos. I buy them from Vinyl Exchange all the time. I have the SOTP promo CD but it's not signed.

so what's the beef with this......?................ intrigued by all this front cover nonsense (i have the shiny one) i decided to have a look at all the copies in my local HMV today. What i found confused me even more.

There were still some of the shiny 'wrong' ones, and there were some matt ones too, BUT there were also shiny ones without the 'kerrang!' comment sticker on the front, and the inlay fitted properly in the case. Where did they come from?!

maybe i had too much time today.

It's not exactly the coolest mistake ever is it? Razz I doubt it'll be worth too much more just because of the inlay...

I've got one of the first run with the shiny cover and one with the smooth cover (signed). I gave up my first shiny cover to Calder so he could get one signed cos he forgot his. Smile

Ah so now it can stand proud with my 'rare' copy of Muse's Absoltion, the one you could only get in the first couple of days with Hysteria and Interlude the wrong way round on the back and without the Muse logo on the front of the booklet.

I have that too. It was released in bulk here in Australia. Not too sure if you would consider that "rare"! LOL! Anyway, I complained so much to FMR (the Australian distribution label for MUSE) and they sent me a couple of proper inlays!! So I have both!

But what are these "rare" copies? I have two versions of the album...one with shiny cover (normal CD inlay paper material) with the sticker on it, and another copy with the matted, thicker paper inlay. Same tracklist, same catalogue number...the only thing different besides the inlays is the CD...one of them has the CD number printed on the CD just under the title...interesting...but if you're talking about the folded inlay...ph yeah, I think it's done well! Not sure if you would classify that as a "mistake". But the matted version has the gap closed. But yeah...everyone seems to be talking about this...so I'll just shut up. Laughing
