Has anyone got any interesting or funny moments from any Reuben shows?

Mine has to be Club Academy in Manchester where Reuben came on to open with SOTP only to find the guitar techs didn't do a very good job of tuning their strings. They went off and then came back on to restart the song with tuned guitars. Throughout the gig they would just go off and come on again for the fun of it, was a good laugh. Anyone else there?

I've posted this before, but the first time I saw (or heard of) Reuben in Derby in early 2003, Jon announced that their singer was ill and couldn't perform, but they'd secured a replacement - Bill the Butcher from Gangs of New York. Then Jamie jumps on stage with a giant moustache and braces made of gaffer tape.

If people are going to continue to post things like this, we are really going to need a Facebook style "like" button*. Hell, we could even have a dislike one because we are not idiots and realise that disliking negative posts has exactly the same effect as liking positive ones, and vice versa.

*We absolutely should not do this.

To be honest they were all interesting and funny! Jamie always seemed to come up with something to entertain the crowd between the rock! He's sort of half comedian half musician!

One that i can think of is when jamie announced he'd always wanted to go to a reuben show, so pulls up 'cornbeef' from the crowd to play a reuben song, exeter cavern i think that was, so many reuben memories there!

Agree that something entertaining happened at every gig and the Exeter Corned Beef thing would be top of my list.

After that would be my first gig which was Los Skeletos at the Water Rats.

I can't remember if it was for every song but I vaguely remember Jamie pointing at people in the crowd and saying 'what's song do you want us to play next' and they'd duly play the request. Eventually someone asked for 'Freddy Kreuger' and Jamie went on one saying he couldn't believe they chose that song out of their entire back catalogue and it was one they'd probably play at the end anyway. He made a meal of the request before saying something like 'are you really really sure that, out of all of our songs, the only one you want to hear is that song', got the nod and played it anyway.

It was lost on me at the time (I'd only heard/seen the downloadable vids from the home page at the time; Wooden Boy, LSHO) but funny looking back (even though I may not have told it in such a way)
