If it makes it any better it's a complete myth that cold/wet weather is responsible for making people ill. It's actually because people keep their windows shut in the cold/wet so there's no air circulation and so viruses breed loads. So actually being in a tent in the rain is probably the best thing you can do to get better Smile

Rich, I'm sorely aware we haven't sorted out finances yet. Is it ok if I pay you when you arrive on the Friday? And for that Oceansize ticket, of course...

Confused I thought we already agreed that! That's cool. I think we agreed it was 43 before, then plus the early entry, didn't we? If not, no worries - just give me a figure!

yeah aidan I was just double checking. I know you won't read this until i've seen you anyway.

I am meant to be driving to this tomorrow. approx 2 hours ago in a car park in leicester square an idiot in his range rover sport reversed into the front of my car. The bonnet will now not open (caved in), the engine runs and the lights work so I'll be taking a big chance. If it overheats I am absolutely fucked!! Wouldn't be a proper festival without some pre-leaving shenanigans though!

Still at the fest. Reuben singalong went incredibly well. Over 100 people turned up, including Frank Turner, and it just turned into a spontaneous Frank Turner set in the middle of the campsite, with him taking requests. He played pretty much ever cover I've ever heard of him doing, plus Smiling and Strangers on Trains and Living the Dream (million dead tunes, for those who don't know). From the start of the Reuben singalong to the end of Frank's 'set' was 4 hours. Pictures to follow when we get home tomorrow.

PieMinister, you would be Liam, yes? You guys were legends, we seemed to agree on films, music, tv... hell, you think Evil Empire is the best rage album, so ku-fucking-dos.

I met some amazing people this weekend, saw Frank Turner play three sets, had two awesome reuben singalongs and got to hang out with Rich, Chipstick and Tippo plus their entourages (Steve, Stefan, Neil and Nick, respectively) plus some other people that were camped near us who were lurkers on this board... I didn't realise we had so many! (And to all the people I spoke to during Future of the Left's set, sorry we left so early so didn't have the chance to do a singalong for those who missed it!) I also got to meet HNT and fatvegan (many thanks for the cider, very kind) who were both lovely. The latter gave me a little food for thought on the treatment of young'uns on this board...

I said this to a couple of people, but I think it was a really great Reuben send off, as I don't know when loads of Reuben fans will be in the same place again in the near future. There were tons of reuben t-shirts around the whole weekend, and hearing 100 people break spontanteously into "No studio today" then "so take... these broken wings..." and then "I went to the toilet, I had lots of fun..." will all be memories that stay with me for a long time. Just a damn fucking shame Reuben weren't there.

Frank's impromptu set (played on my guitar, no less!) as far as I can recall, included but was probably not limited to:

Nashville Tennesee
Thatcher Fucked the Kids
I really don't care what you did on your gap year
Romantic Fatigue
Wisdom Teeth
The Real Damage
A Decent Cup of Tea
Worse Things Happen At Sea
Once we were anarchists
Ladies of London Town
The Ballad of me and my friends
Photosynthesis
To Take you home
Long live the queen
Sea Legs
Heartless Bastard Motherfucker
The District Sleeps Alone Tonight (Postal Service cover)
Rain King (counting crows cover)
Thunder Road (bruce springsteen cover)
Vatican Broadside (half man half biscuit cover)
The Huntsment Comes A-Marching (Chris T-T cover)
Freddy Kreuger (this was part of the sing-along)
New Song (I think it was called Mr. Richards)
Smiling at Strangers on Trains
Living the Dream
Some random NOFX cover that no one knew

I think that's about it.... there may have been more, I forget. It was a long, drunken evening. He began to play the bridge to To Whom It May Concern after we all broke out into "I'm only working here 'cause I need the fucking money', but refused to go any further.

I'm going to sleep now.
