well i'm sorry but i do.

They are both great, but i think the radio 1 session version has a rockier sound to it.

I deffinetly preffer the old version! the lyric 'I've got a hand like a knife rack' really annoys me! Also I to prefer it a bit quicker and I asociate the new version with the video, which I don't like! They shouldn't have
re-recorded Freddy or any old songs at that! Million Dead put out an album of completely new songs (-1) and that album is pure genius! I would be pleased with an album of Reuben songs I'd never heard before.

Rant over!

Although I can completely counter my own arguement with a different one I'm not going to bother Confused

the thing is that reuben have about 4 years of brilliant songs written and so they cant completely forget about them just to please the fans who have already heard em

Well Freddy was never recorded before, netiher were any of the album tracks (minus LSHO & Eating Only Apples), they were just played in radio session and such then ripped to MP3. But I kinda see where you're getting at, it's not like they were officaly released though.

Well I'm guessing the radio session was recorded as a 'Work In Progress' type thing, they'd already written the song and wanted to see how it'd come off live or whatever, then played around a bit and perfected it in the studio.

i believe the final version of the lyrics was finished the day the song was recorded for the album.

the radio 1 session had a special lyric "i listen to caretaker" because seb from caretaker had told jamie he didn't like the original lyrics ("i have a face like a pizza).

also, the session was recorded ages ago and when they do sessions they have to record 4 songs in 12 hours.. which is why it is probably faster and rawer than the album.. but what would be the point in doing a session at all if it sounded exactly the same? Smile

Ah, Jamie, the ever poetic lyrical mastermind. He should have kept that.
