What should they have as props?

I'm saying Dalek's. Lots of Dalek's. Remote Controlled ones.

And the guitars / basses have laser's in them to fight them off.

What else do you want?

it's if I think about sutff like this that I'm sort of glad that reuben aren't that big a band, if you know what I mean, obviously I'd love for them to be really successful and live off being the band, but at the same time it would lose a certain quality for me, they'd sort of become untouchable whereas to m e right now they're absolutely real which is what I love

I'm far too selfish to want Reuben to become big and successful. They're my little underground band who make me feel good when I can boast about them to people who are totaly clueless.

That said, I will always have the "I knew them back in the day when they played crappy little venues and supported Fightstar" angle.

They were like that for me in 2003/004. Ever since 2005, everyone i know/meet at house parties wi alternative music lovers/gigs etc have all heard of reuben, seen em support some band they dig, or y'know, are familiar with the reuben output.

Since about 2005 i've been using Macrocosmica as my little underground band. But anyone with good music taste up here knows all about Macrocosmica. Fuck sakes Very Happy

Reuben are more well known than people within the Reuben fan-base actually think. I've been realizing that recently. They still aren't a big band but you'd all be shocked if you were to look at Reuben through the eyes of someone who's generally knowledgeable about music but not a fan. It's confusing to explain but because we don't want them to be huge we have a tendency to ignore how well known they are.

What the fuck is everyone getting sentimental for?! We're talking props and it's entirely hypothetical.

I'd say perhaps a life size Jabba the hut, played by Paul Gascoigne

It'd be a like a Flaming Lips show with all the best props made by the band earlier that week from things they found in skips, glitter and magic.

Yeah I know I was thinking that reading the thread but I got drawn in by the discussion.

I'd probs like a big LCD background stating "no studio today"

have them play in front of a giant castle, and have guy do a drum solo on the drawbridge as it is winched down. And when it goes into mega distortion, have a big dragon come out of the castle.
