Reading this thread over (especially page 6) is horribly prophetic and makes me very sad. I miss Reuben. _________________ Well if you're just gonna be like that

Same here man, it is weird I completely forgot about that Lenman quote... guess in hindsight he did mean it
I was holding out hope for the obligatory Westy Xmas show as a one off but no such luck _________________ DRUM WORLD! |

It is sad. I'll never forget predicting Reuben's split with my friends after that gig, head in my hands with just a general feeling of dread about their future. Just wish we could have ended on a more positive note. |

I used to feel so christmasy at those westy gigs, they were so fun. Like the whole trip to aldershot and then the awesome gig and it always used to be really cold and misty on the way home. I'm gonna seriously miss that this year. _________________

I know what you mean, i have never still been upset 6 months after a bands split before. I still long for the exitement when you know theres a new Reuben album, there really was nothing to beat the excitement of holding the CD in your hand and thinking "I can't fucking wait to hear what this sounds like".
Even when SOAD split I just kinda got over it within a week or so, but Reuben really were such a one of a kind that it's really upsetting. Not to mension I kinda feel sorry for them, i know it was their choice, but i can't help but think, if they had gotten bigger (which they no doubt deserved) we would still have one of the greatest British bands ever in their prime.
Seeing Jamie in the Frank Turner vid cheered me up, Jim's humor was half of the things that made Reuben so great. |

Wasn't it just a hiatus while they faffed about doing they're own projects, both of which are awful. _________________ And oh, what I would give, not to stumble, but to really fall in love |

I think it would have worked better as, "They're not the messiahs, they're very naughty boys". Amirite? |
