Hey guys and Gals,

Been a while since I posted anything on the Reuben forums so hello to those of you I know, and hello to those I haven't met before! Smile

I've recently been asked to complete the line up for Surrey based Midgar. A dark atmospheric alternative project fronted by Wokings Andy Wilson Taylor. The band features members of local acts Relate?, Sangoma and Susie Clarke.

If you have a spare 5 minutes, please go check out the Midgar page and let us know what you think!

Many thanks,

Rob - on behalf of Andy W-T, Daveman3000, Erlin McAlpine and Oliver Wiseman.

Cheers Jacko,

The band has been a long time in the making, Andy W-T has been extensively touring his solo stuff acoustic as have I with my own stuff for the last 4 years. I think all of us suddenly decided that it was time to put the acoustic's down for a bit and play heavier!

Had only our third practice as 'Midgar' last night, and its pretty much ready to gig it. Keep visiting the myspace, come say hello!

Rob

No Guildford gigs yet, got a few Woking way in the pipeline - debut performance is a private party. Keep checking the Myspace or Facebook page ( http://www.facebook.com/pages/MIDGAR/10352697842 ) dates should be appearing soon, along with other news!

Thanks for your interest!

Ive heard stories too, but we're going in with an open mind. I heard some pretty shit things about many engineers, including Chris Sheldon and Adrian Bushby - both of which I got to assist when I was working at the late Jacob's Studio's near Farnham, both of which we're an absolute pleasure to work with (which I was glad about as production-wise, Chris Sheldon is my fucking idol!) Surprised)

Hello All,

Just a quick update on the Midgar front!

Things are going really well for us, we played out debut performance on Sunday night supporting Forever Wednesday. Very positive feedback from all!

Upcoming gigs:

May 13th - The Boileroom Guildford - (We're nearly hitting fire regs for this venue with our numbers alone, and there are 4 bands playing so if you fancy coming along, get there real early!)

May 17th - Christ Church, Woking - We're taking time out of our studio break to support the fabulous 'Open The Skies'. This is their homecoming gig and I've heard that the last few gigs they've done there are pretty special so we're dead excited to be playing there!

If anyone want's to know anything further about these dates, then let me know!

All the best guys,

Rob + Midgar

Or during recording, ask a member of your band to join his, and then 'lose' all the recordings when said member refuses. Or hold your band's recordings hostage until you pay more than you originally agreed! Oh, that Jason. What a rascal!

I somehow missed this thread first time round... Stuff on the facebook sounds very cool indeed. Can't believe you're working with Erlin - everything he touches turns to gold, the man's a god damn legend.
