Okay, I have a few questions about the song Stuck In My Throat (album version) which I'm a little unsure about, based upon the song lyrics:

1.) Does he sing "This is a war" or "This is the way" before the screaming bit starts?

2.) In the screaming bit he sings "You're kitten as a cat / I know where it's at" and then something that sounds to me as either "Checking" or "Chicken" before he says "This is where it's at". Which one?

That's it for now. Smile

Can you just not read the lyrics in the booklet?

Well i think it is 'This is the way I am, kitten as a cat', regardless of what the discog says about it saying 'you're'

Can't elaborate on the poultry reference, however

Yes, this is true, but for this particular case the "Checking/Chicken/?" bit is not included in the book but it's clearly said, and also sometimes bands/artists can get the lyrics wrong in the booklet now and then or change them.

A prime example of such a case would be in the GlassJaw 'Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About Silence' album booklet. Many songs there have altered lyrics that Daryl actually sings especially Babe, though he was known for doing this often.

the "chicken" bit is actually Jamie saying "yeah" but completely mangled by mixing and mysteriously left in the final version...one of many rough edges on racecar, including the infamous and inexplicable 'vocals getting lots louder in LSHO' gaffe.

I still feel a twinge when I hear crowds singing the wrong words to this song.
It's fantastic to hear so many people yelling along with Reuben but my neurotic self still can't help but develop a small nervous tick about this.

This sadly happened at the last Manchester gig. Confused
Let's hope it doesn't happen again tonight.

Why couldn't they put the single version on Racecar? It sounds so much better in my opinion.

...and i thought Jamie says "check it" like what Steph said, cos it seemed to fit.

I think it was because they wanted the same sounding production through out the whole album. Thats why they didn't use the single version of Let's Stop Hanging Out on the album either.
