i agree with dave. they are all fine names and they are straight to the point but are maybe a bit unexciting. by the way, what happened to rockscene?

cos it will mainly be focusing on the underground music scene a cool name would be www.rocktheunderground.tk Very Happy

rockscene was taken apparently. I rather like the underground idea.....something a bit more creative again though.

Why rush? It'd be better if we took our time and built it slowly. How about miccheck.com? I wanted soundcheck.com but it has a ridiculous price.

I'd rather go for more underground stuff. Any fool with Sky digital can see main stream bands and decide for themselves, I'd rather focus on bands who are less well known among the general population which is why I'm so keen on local scenes, bands that no one outside of that area will have heard of.

if we went to see a band, we'd review it.

Precisely Mark me old fruit. I'm not saying we shouldn't review anything, but if I see a review of a Rancid gig no matter how good it says they were it won't make me want to check them out as I've already suffered their music. Put a review up about a band I'm unfamiliar with and it might draw me towards them. If you see what I mean. But right now I'm sticking with www.miccheck.com

I think we should do like:

95% on underground bands
5% on other bands

Like when we went to see a band, we should review them, and if we could get a review on a bigger band go for it. Are Reuben not underground any more?

What type of bands do you consider too big?

I think the biggest should be bands like Hundred Reasons / InME.

It's the content not the name really, but if anyone has any suggestions, then we should go for them. We just plan to get it up as soon as possible.

Very Happy

My my, that WAS smooth.

Actually I'm going to take this chance to plug http://www.underdogzine.co.uk, which I write for (whenever I get round to it). It's similar to what you guys are setting up I think, might do for some ideas.

I'm with Christina on this one. Go for bands who are playing venues smaller than Brixton sort of size, from th Astoria to the Tunny Wells forum. We could do a big thing about festivals and any amazing bands we found whilst there. If you go out and ask 100 people about a band, if 50-60 know about them (which doesn't include answers such as 'heard the name but not the music') then they're pretty big. That's a rough guide anyway.

i agree with dave about the underground thing. for example, the site aidan mentioned www.underdogzine.co.uk is so random. theres reviews of small local bands playing venues like the west end centre, then theres reviews of blink 182 playing wembley! if i wana read about blink 182 playing wembley i buy kerrang, i dont go to a small website run by 1 guy. i hope you see what im trying to exaplain.
