ok, what the fuck? I just listened to Blood Bunny and was getting worried that I wouldn't like the production on the album. Then I saw the spectral view in my media player. This thing has been lossy compressed to hell and back!

What's Good For Me has also been compressed, though it's a less severe and more obvious mp3 effect. Girls On Top is in full CD quality glory.

Track 03 (good)
Track 02 (bad)
Track 01 (terrible).

Someone PLEASE tell me the album isn't going to sound like this?!

And on a slightly lower priority note, which probably only Ric could answer, where abouts in the chain did the compression happen? Could it be that the version of What's Good For Me available via download services actually sounds better than the one on the CD?

Yeah but he's saying the b sides are of better quality! I can see what your saying, would be sad if sound had been compromised somewhere along the line, although its not that bad and i doubt 90% of people will notice.

Nope i have no idea what he's on about. To the untrained ear (like mine) the single and both b-sides sound awesome. I wudn't worry.

to the trained ear, it still sounds good. a little flat in places. the credits state that some guy called Tim Turan mastered it when i though the Howi Weinberg was doing it? Maybe he's just doing that album as i guess he is very expensive.

meh, it makes my skin crawl and I can't listen to it. Blood Bunny that is, What's Good for Me is ok. I'm amazed that more people don't think it sounds bad - this isn't just Rob-being-an-audiophile about things you can hardly hear, it's really blatant. The drums sound like they're under water and the cymbals have got artifacts all over them. I will email the mastering guy when I get chance. The sound on this reflects really badly on Sean and the rest of the production team, and also means the band wasted a lot of money on mixing!

Alot of the time singles aren't masterd the same as on the album (or even the same mix as with Stuck In My Throat). As is my understanding this is because of radio play, where everyone wants their song to be louder than the song that preceded it.

Ok i listened again, and yeah the drums do sound a bit muffled, but i can't hear any artifacts.

The rest of the instruments seem to be mixed well and are clear and distinguishable. I've ordered a promo of the album so i can check the rest of the album.
