Lead vocals: Dallas Green (as he sings in his solo stuff, not all this shouty Alexisonfire nonsense!)

Guitar 1 / Vocals: Ian D'sa (Billy Talent)

Guitar 2 / Vocals: Simon Neil (Biffy Clyro)

Bass: Mike Dirnt (Green Day)

Drums: Brian Viglione (Dresden Dolls- if in doubt, check out their live cover of Warpigs on YouTube- incredible!)

There. Why is this topic in the 'Your Bands' forum anyway?

Lead : Jamie Lenman/Daryl Palumbo/ Paul Mullen/ Terry Abbott

Bass: Cliff Burton

Drums : Will Shaw (Beecher)

Guitar 1 : Dave Mustaine (the man knows a riff)

Guitar 2 : Either vocalist who isnt singing, expect daryl Razz

Yeah my group would be called, hmmm, "Dear lord this is too good to comprehend!"

Damn hard trying to fit people together. Would have liked Satriani, but he's out of his heavyness depth on this line up!

Interesting how many people have said Ian D'sa, the man is a legend though.

Vox - Anthony Green, Dallas Green, Daryl Palumbo
Guitar - Ian D'sa, Simon Neil, Johnny Greenwood, James Iha
Bass - Chris Wolstenholme, Melissa Auf De Maur
Sampling/Programming - Trent Reznor, whoever in 65dos does programming (think it's either Simon or Paul)
Drums - Jimmy Chamberlin, Abe Cunningham

They'd all be playing the same songs, just with members interchanging where/when they want - I'd think about calling them The Manhattan Project but a.) bit melodramatic, and b.) that's already a surrey band with a massive 'ho for a singer. and if they read this I want my 30 minutes back.

I think picking several people per role is going a bit off the idea of a super group. In that case it's just naming people whose musicianship you like, whereas if you pick one then you have to really think hard about who you want to see in a band.

Anyway...
Vocals - Hardcore Dave (can't really think of one so a guy I know)
Guitar - Guthrie Govan
Bass - Cliff Burton
Drums - John Bonham

Pfffft...

All i can say is this: Combine the members of BORIS and Sunn 0))) and you get the ideal supergroup for me. And the best part is, it's already happened, and the album is beautiful...really.

Well I was more thinking along the lines of This is Menace.. I thought with that many people all adding ideas you could come out with something pretty interesting.. that or it'll be a "too many cooks" situation. I did put it all together quite quickly but i didn't put in anyone who I didn't think would work with any of the others. Ability is secondary.

And with Ian D'sa I think it's less about Technical ability (thouhg he is more than competent) and more about what he writes - his guitar parts are just.. different, both in terms of chord sequences and what extra notes he throws in - fifths, ninths etc that totally change the feel of a standard chord.
