hi,

we need a bass player. must be quite good and aged between 16 and 19. my band has 10 original songs and they are amazing. no clear influences but we are a very good modern rock band (i may use the word emo if i had to but we aint very emo, perhaps just a sprinkling).must be commited and ambitious. we are based in north london. no goths, sorry.

if your interested or know of someone who might be then email me - brothers_mcbane@hotmail.com

I am a fucking good bass player who can easily get to london every week or so.... but alas I am a goth. Oh how my soul weeps tears of blood as my thoughts of melancholy cascade throughout my tormented mind.

heh. just joking. I'm no goth. but im moving to canadia. Have you tried sticking up an ad in your local guitar shop? All the ones near me have little boards for stuff like that.

No goths? Descrimination!

"You used to define yourself as a mod or a punk; now all the kids seem to want to look the same. I've got a lot of admiration for goths. At least they make the effort" - Steve Mason

the word "goth" is a sort of byword for an insult now isnt. you cant really call yourself a goth, cos there's so much implied with it, so i try not to use the word goth. but...erm...goths try too hard

Nah, I don't think they do. Some of them do, but thats true for pretty much any group of people. Plus you know, all the time they spend on eyeliner is evened out by the ease in picking clothes to wear. If its all black, it all matches.

Some of the gothic fashions are actually rather pretty, I have a freind who makes all these amazing gothic style clothes with the prettiest designs on them. My best freinds GCSE textiles coursework was a gothic style corset and long black skirt which not only scored full marks but they decided it was better than all the A-level coursework and put it in the main display case.

I used to be a goth...

Lets face it, guitar wins. Go up to 100 random people on the street and I bet you at least 95 will be able to name loads of famous guitarists, but not a single famous bass player. Why? Because the guitar is the isntument that stands out the most! Bass can sound good on its own, but ya hafta be pretty good at it. Any chimp with two hands can make something that sounds not half bad on a guitar.

guitar may sound cooler but the novelty of that wears off after a day. i love the technique side of the bass, and playing along to rage and shit rocks
