Ok saying it would lose them fans was a pretty dumb thing, I just reckon that people who have liked the previous Reub singles would be pretty shocked by Nobody Loves You. In comparison to all the previous singles it's a completely different direction which could put some people off bothering to look into Reuben more.

For example, I know of a few silly people who decided to 'not bother' with Reuben anymore after they released Blamethrower because apparently it sounds 'crap and childish'. I think it was a great choice of single and I'm sure loads of people will love Nobody Loves You (probably more people because it appeals to a wider audience I'd say), I just think there are so many more stronger songs on the album that are also single material.

I'll still buy it if it gets released...

I'd definitely go for "It's all about Control"
Does it not scream out "SINGLE SINGLE" to you?
Hahaa.
But i must admit, Nobody Loves you is like Dusk.
It would be a great song around winter.
Dusk always reminds me of christmas ^___^

I don't know why everyone goes on about nobody loves you being shite, I love it. If it were up to me though I would prob go for "some mothers..." (I think "Jedi" is a bit long for radio etc Very Happy)

If they wanted to go with Nobody Loves You I wouldn't mind. If I didn't know Reuben & heard them on the basis of that song I wouldn't listen any further, although it's a decent song in itself.

Then again, I'm a unique snowflake so ner. Razz

I'd love "every time a teenager..." because it'd kick ass on vinyl simply. And it's a classic title for a song and an all time great reuben song. I definately think that there are stronger songs on VFVD than nobody loves you and although it would show a slower more heartfelt side to them it's not their best.

Bare in mind that both "return of the jedi" and "everytime a teenager..." have slower lovely bits at the end.

In a way I hope they don't release anything else from the album and just leave it as it is as the current singles do scream "very fast, very dangerous!"

But In a way I hope they do just to have a more contrasting single from the rest which I think are all pretty similar. & maybe appeal to more fans.

Are they actually releasing another single?
Or is this just what the fans want?

well they haven't toured this album very much so new single would be the perfect excuse instead of ending this album "cycle" 2 months after its been released

Some Mothers easily! I think Nobody Loves you is too slow for them to release as a single if they are hoping to get any where with it, maybe if they were more famous, but Some Mothers is my choice.

I think the singal should definatly represent the bands genral sound. Like teenager or control. Beacuse although NBLU would open them to a whole new 'acoustic love song' loving audience, they probably wouldnt be best pleased if they bought the album expecting 'blunt-esq' acousticness.
Plus what would the cover be a sailboat or wedding car??
But yeah I think another singal is essential to keep reuben on the radio so people wont forget about the album. But mainly so there'll be able to tour again.
At the very least a download singal e.g an excuse to tour.

Make it the Popemobile!

I don't think people would buy the album and expect it to be full of lush acoustic ballads from that song alone. I think it shows a new side to the guys that hasn't been put forward by the singles before...and I don't think they'll be pigeonholed for very long, what with their workrate (if that was the case, then Biffy would be known as the nation's best dadrock band).
