http://www.bbc.co.uk/leicester/music/2003/10/reuben_engerica_review.shtml

"Emo rock band Reuben also launched a full frontal attack as soon as they got on stage with "Stuck in my throat", their forthcoming single, out on November 03."

Are reuben emo?

I agree with bill.

There are only 2 genres of music I recognise. 'Good' and 'Crap'.

reuben aren't emo - they're just a band in the rock genre who play good music.

Emo is almost an insult nowadays...like "Man, you should stop grovelling about your break-up, you're starting to sound really emo."

To settle it (though probably not): It's Post-hardcore! At The Drive-In, Refused, Hundred Reasons, HIFH, Glassjaw, Biffy and Reuben- all post-hardcore.

Emo: Eighties Genre of American rock featuring Sunny Day Real Estate and Rites of Spring.

Now, which one sounds cooler?

Emo is just a catch-all term for lazy journalists. Harsh but true.

Congratulations, you are now the official fool of the week. Every single time an arguement pops up over how emo is defined someone comes along trying to be smart and says this. Remember in future, it's not big and it's not clever.
