does anyone know what pedals they use?
cheers

and as a seperate question, does anyone know any good dist / overdrive pedals. I'm looking for basically, sorta nu-metally /metal but also punkrock kinda feelin
if you're gonna say boss say which one Wink

I'm sorta tempted to get a mega distortion but I've heard it's not good for anything other than good ol' fashioned heavy metal, so maybe a overdrive/dist pedal?

all jamie uses is the OD channel on his amp and a boss TU-2 tuner pedal.

buy a big muff or a ProCo Rat. all you'll ever need.

Last couple of times I saw them Jon used a Boss DS-1 (which i think actually sounds pretty cool with a bass)

Yep, i'm with lee. I fucking love fuzz pedals. But alot of people hate them. It's totally subjective.

Theres a Russian make of Big Muff that I think is the same but with Big Muff written in Russian and they're cheaper that Cliff Burton used to use.

The build quality of all russian EHX pedals (there is a russian version of nearly all ehx pedals I think) is very questionable too... apparently they don't use as high quality components as the American versions. The russian ones also don't come in sexy wooden boxes and the outer casing isn't as strong.

my big muff didn't come in a wooden box. THe power cable for it just broke and the only 9v battery i have is being used in my EHX chorus pedal.

Seriously though, fuzz pedals are good! However on mine it sounds crap when you palm mute and finger tap anything., use OD for that.

i was pretty sure jon used a odb-3 bass distortion, not a ds-1

and on distortion pedals.. meh. not a fan of big muff or mega distortion. used to use one in my old band, and my guitarist used to use a mega distortion. get a decent amp and you won't need to buy an external distortion.. but i guess it's completely dependent on what sorta sound you want. big muff's are good for smashing pumpkins wall of sound type of stuff but nothing technical. ds-1's are just for dirt.

if you were gonna go for a big muff though.. usa all the way.
the russian versions are like 10 less and crap. not worth it.

Yep, Jon is an ODB3 man

I used the same for a while, but then I got hold of a Hughes and Kettner Warp pedal for 20. If you're wanting Nu-Metal sounds for not a whole lot of money, you seriously can't go wrong. Sounds great with guitar, but luckily for me it sounds awesome with bass.

I've gone through loads of overdrive and distortion pedals and the warp is just ace. The EBX stuff is amazing too, but pricey.

But back to my original point...... awesome guitar pedal = Warp. I think the reason they're going cheap is they're discontinued. Could be wrong though.
