I'm doing my HND in Photography and I'm interested in Live stuff. I would love to take piccies of the boys at the Leeds Uni show. They came 2 years ago to Josephs well here and I got some great shots. I don't spose anybody knows how to go about getting a photography pass? :-/ I know that people who manage places like this don't really give students the time of day.. but we all gotta start somewhere!! Smile

If its at the uni then get in contact with the live music society there. If they cant help directly, they'll know who to point you in the direction of Smile

Uni venues are either run by the Student Union or by the University themselves. Usually, you'd have to go through the venue, who in turn would have to get in contact with the Tour Manager, who'd approve you to take photos for the first three songs without using flash. Probably.

This will take anywhere from a week to a month to clear so get in contact sooner rather than later.

If you can't get a photo pass, then it's gonna have to be a smuggling job... One small lens with a wide aperture and the body is mainly what you'll need, and try and stand in a place where bouncers can't see you because they will either tell you to stop or take the camera off you.

i say f*ck it use the flash along with a long shutter speed and you get some nice effects which convey heavy music well.

It looks good but doesn't require much skill unfortunately.

Ah yes 10 CC one of the few songs worth listening to by them. If you consider "I'm Not In Love" worth listening to, if not then it is the only song worth listening to.
