i crowd surfed quite a bit when i was younger

i guess as i got older i gradually got further away ftom the stage and actually wcthed the band playing rather than busting a gut moshing

clearly its dangerous for all concerned but if youre gonna be in a mosh pit or on the barrier is abit or rough and tumble not to be expected?

I'd write an intelligent and smart reply to this debate, but I'm too tired and some people are too dumb to understand

If you don't like crowdsurfers, don't stand in their fucking path. Simple as, really. If you can't take the heat then get out of the frying pan

Maybe because at the back and sides people stand a couple of feet apart, making crowd surfing pretty tricky?

There are some that do try it in the less crowded areas, either that or the wave brings them to that kinda place. people that just stand and watch at the sides or back are the best, they have a wee laugh, nay a chortle (!) to themselves as some shirtless bafoon falls to the ground, possibly chipping vertabrae.

i mean...what?

I say yes!
Crowd surfing at gigs is to be expected.
If that gets banned it will open the floodgates....maybe moshing will be banned too incase someone breaks a toenail?!

crowdsurfing is banned in most of the larger venues i can think of up here
the academy, the arena, all the stages in both universities.

well, i say "banned" it's more often a case of 'repeat offenders will be ejected in the interest and safety of everyone else present', plus at the arena they have security on patrol through the crowd on the arena floor to make sure that nobody gets hurt if the pits don't get out of hand.
they'll throw you out if you're in the pit to be a dick and start kicking out at people, i saw it happen to some idiots during H*Rs set supporting incubus a couple of years ago and during The Pogues just before christmas.
