Time for you to grow some bollocks and reply to this topic. How did you first hear Reuben? When was it? And most importantly, HOW? (Asked twice for effect.)

I first heard about Reuben a few years ago from a mate, who played me Banner Held High, and I fell in love.

i love my "how did you discover reuben" story Smile
i went to a vex red signing in guildford hmv when i was about 15/16. me and some friends sat in the queue for over an hour with this bloke. we all chatted and got to know each other..was good fun. then a girl came over to the bloke and says "are you jamie from reuben?" and he says "yes i am" and her and her mates come and get stuff signed. i get home an hour later and the SOTP video comes on mtv2 and im like "i was so just sitting with that guy!"
so yes, i listened and liked and went to many gigs. and i lived happily ever after. the end.

A man called Lukas spotted teh Scared of the Police single in HMV Glasgow one day and told me to buy it for him please please please because he didn't have the money and it was very important to him. I didn't go back to Glasgow, therefore didn't get it for him. All forgotten. Then I saw the Let's Stop Hanging Out video on TV, and asked Lukas about them again, at this point he sent me a few songs by them and they fast became one of my favourite bands, with my first live show being on the Stuck in My Throat tour. Very Happy

I have no idea.

Two of my friends would rave about them, but I don't take much notice of the music scene at all. If someone gets really big and are played on the radio/Kerrang constantly then I may consider taking notice but other than that I don't give a damn. I'm far too lazy. I remember hearing some of the singles (Miffy in Auschwitz, Scared of the Police and Let's Stop Hanging Out)

Then I was asked to come to a gig either at Ambient Picnic in Guildford or the Westy (I can't remember which came first...) and I was in love. Loooooooooooooooove. And as soon as I heard that RIRB was coming out I legged it to HMV and got me a copy.

That's it... Confused

Mine was back at the Vex Red Astoria show a few years back with Biffy and Reuben supporting. Walked in and there they were, now I'm here.

Loads of people were at that gig. I'm still meeting people today who were there as well, one of my best friends at Uni for example.

When in Scotland on vacation I bought Rocksound which had one of Reubens songs on it. Me and my dad both liked it, he bought the album, once back home I stole the album and never looked back Cool So basically it's all my dad's fault, how cool is that? Am I street or what Wink

Saw the video for Lets Stop Hanging Out and loved it, but never really followed my interest up in them. Found out about a year later they were doing a signing in my local record store (26th June 2004), so went to that, bought Racecar and fell in love. The rest as they say is history Razz
