I've heard of it and have been meaning to look into using it but haven't yet found the motivation to bother.

(excerpt)

What is RSS?
RSS is an easy way for you to keep updated automatically on websites you like. Instead of you having to go to websites to see if they've written a new article or feature, you can use RSS (which stands for Really Simple Syndication) to get them to tell you every time they have something new.

i don't actually use it either but it is apparently becoming very popular..

Hm. I've never used it before, but I have noticed it getting around. I might give it a whirl if you put it on here.

Got to say though, this site's already better than most for letting use know when stuff's been updated - what with the list of recently updated pages on the launch page.

An example if you all want to try it is download this http://www.activerefresh.com/download/InstallAB.exe And add this link as a custom feed. http://www.neowin.net/backend.php?page-news

This is a bit bloated for RSS but you get the idea. Kinda like email but for website information.

i was mainly thinking of using it for the news page but there could in theory be several (one for the live page, latest updates etc)

any thoughts?

i think i'll probably just trial it with one at first though... Smile
