I'll be down to the October 16th gig at the Islington and I would imagine i'll try and get tickets for the Garage too.

That is a good description of the album. All the places focusing on big band/jazz because of "Pretty Please" are not. |

Hmmm...
After listening to the released tracks more, I'm not overly fussed for Fizzy Blood. It is decent and despite loving Reuben's heavier numbers really I was longing for a reuben-esque lull between the heavy metal.
Like many I don't think its unfair to say few Reuben fans will have big band and Jazz high on their list of loves. That said Pretty Please was undeniably Lenmann. suprisingly I enjoyed that more.
So I'm curious about the second disk but after my initial ecstasy I'm not as hyped about the heavy disk. Especially the 'technical' stuff, I don't claim to be some sort of music snob I just know what I like so making something overly complex will probably just be wasted on me. If its relentlessly heavy it wont make for an immediately enjoyable listen.
I'm one of the world's biggest Reuben fans but that won't automatically make me Heavy/Mellow Band fan for the hell of it.
Still I will give the album a chance to form my own opinions. |

Tis good to be back Cant wait for this album! Always thought the early versions of Jamie stuff was decent, be good to hear some others if they are on the album. "Oh Charlene" would be good to hear. _________________ "Everybodys dead dave, Everybody is dead dave!" |

Awesome thanks Ric. Acoustic Stuck in My Throat was a real treat.
Amazing to hear the way Jamie's approaching the vocals on Shotgun House as well. Really cool. |

I'm really looking forward to the heavy side of this. Fizzy Blood is right up my street.
Pretty Please was a little harder to get into, but it is really good. I think that whole disk of the album is going to get less play from me, but that's just me.
Still, I'm super pleased to hear news of the Lenman returning. I checked my e-mails under my desk and didn't even realise I spent 5 minutes with this huge grin staring at my lap. My team have been a bit off with me since... |

the heavy side is my favourite too and by definition the quieter side gets less play but that's not to say i don't like it.
have you heard Shotgun House? Jamie played it last night on XFM |

This is all great news. I remember talking to Harry from Caretaker over a year ago and he mentioned that Jim was recording an album which was "the heaviest thing you'll ever hear". I didn't know about the second half. That was a nice treat.
See those of you that got tickets at The Islington on Wednesday.
PS. Anyone know what time the gig starts? Ric? _________________ Tiny little ducklings wearing paper hats. Standing outside the worlds tallest block of flats. |
